THE COMPANY
The P.D.O. Valli Trapanesi "Casa Giafari" Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced in the territory of Trapani, the "city between two seas", a crescent of land at the extreme western tip of Sicily, known for its splendid coasts and characterized by a vast hinterland where the large expanses of olive groves alternate with vineyards and other native crops.
An ancient tradition for the populations of the Mediterranean.
Spread by the Phoenicians, who can also be credited for the extraction of salt in the area thanks to the establishment of the saltpans, the cultivation of the olive tree is one of the oldest agricultural activities in the Trapani area, whose typically Mediterranean soil and climate are ideal for olive growing. The production of olive oil has been passed down over the centuries, but has practically remained unchanged, and is therefore an excellence in many respects.

A tradition that has been built and perfected over time, during which the olive trees have been silent witnesses to the passage of eras and civilizations: Greeks, Phoenicians, Arabs...
Moreover, it is to the latter that we owe the name of the locality of Misiligiafari (from the Arabic "Manzil-al-Giafar") where we can find the olive grove from which the "Casa Giafari" extra virgin oil is produced, which is named after its place of origin. In Sicily, in fact, the Arab domination left important signs in agriculture too: not coincidentally, the age-old olive trees, here and in southern Italy, are called "Saraceni" (Saracens), in reference to that historical period.
